Josh has over 20 years’ professional experience and a consistent history of school and non-profit improvement and innovation at the local and system-level. Currently he is the Chief Executive Officer of North10, Philadelphia, a “place-based” community change strategy organization, committed to improving the overall quality of life in the Hunting Park and East Tioga communities of North Philadelphia.

Previously, Josh was the Director of School leadership for Generation Ready, a leading
national provider of leader and teacher professional learning services. In 2013 Josh served
as the Resident Principal at the United States Department of Education. In 2007 Josh
founded DREAM Charter School in East Harlem, NYC and served as the school’s first
principal and Executive Director. He was also the principal of PS 183 from 2002-2007.
Prior to becoming a principal, he served as an assistant principal and elementary school
classroom teacher in New York City Department of Education schools for over 10 years.
Josh was a 1991 Teach for America corps member, starting his career as a Kindergarten
teacher at the J.S. Aucoin Elementary School in St. Mary Parish, Louisiana.

Josh has a Doctorate in Educational Leadership (Ed.L.D.) from Harvard University, MA in
Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Teachers College, a MA in
Administration and Supervision from New York University, and a BA in History from Tufts University. With extensive experience in strategic planning, school finance, operations, development, community partnerships/ parent involvement, organization design development, curriculum development, communications & outreach, special education ELL, Josh comes to the I.E. board with specialized insight and networks.
